The pipe never betrays

The pipe never betrays.

That was Gilberto Colombo’s recurring phrase.
Who was Gilberto Colombo?
A visionary able to design and build according to the engineering concept of lightness.

For this genius, Enzo Ferrari entrusted him with the difficult task of designing and making the chassis of racing Ferrari, which always won.

Between passion, esteem and trust, from this collaboration was born, between the two, a lasting friendship.
However, Gilberto had a dream in his drawer, a drawing, that of a project that remained unpublished and patented in 1952, an armchair bed.

Fascinated by the poetic history, collaborating with his son Marco, we made the prototype of his armchair and we called it Gilco.
Working those tubes so light and resistant we began to love iron and its properties.

Of course, as always, Plinio il Giovane enforces the law to give life to the most ancient and proven methods of processing, such as brass welds, used only for racing bike frames.

And this is how the stackable chair Bea, the little Annie and the very agile stackable tables Pierre were born.

The first is called Bea,
because blessed among the woods of Pliny the Younger since it is metal.

blessed because chosen in the selection of the best products of 2019.
Blessed because it can also be outside is practical and stackable.

The second is called Annie, because she is so petite and very ergonomic.

The table is Pierre, but I can’t remember why.

You find them in the cult places of the city of Milan, because they have in themselves elegance and lightness.
