If we look at sofas made in the beginning of the 1900’s, or the ones from the Art Deco period,
we realise that their main structure was made out of exposed wood whilst the cushions were decorative, comfortable but not overly voluminous.
I was inspired by these elegant sofas when I dreamt up the first Divano Plinio, that became the first of its kind of a series of similar products.
A sofa with precise geometric lines, wide arm-rests that can be used to stand things on, and lightweight cushions that can be moved around as required.
Right from the start Divano Plinio was conceived as a structure that can be taken apart, made of solid oak, using old-fashioned joinery methods.
The lightweight padding in eco-friendly and biodegradable material means it is comfortable to sit on and highly breathable.
Treatment with pure boiled linseed oil exalts the veins in the wood whilst ensuring that the product is waterproof, improving the patina and durability.
Each of our creations is a unique and unrepeatable work, the result of love, passion and dedication to a job that, fortunately, we love madly.
The finishes of our woods based on oil of naturally pigmented cooked linen, adds to a wide selection of fine fabrics born from fascinating and very noisy jaquard looms, finally allowing you to create infinite combinations of materials and colors, without compromises and brakes on your creativity and your dreams.
All our products are made according to the engineering of lightness. For us, wood is a living, precious material and therefore should not be wasted. For this reason, every single element of our product is structural and calculated according to the stresses to which it is subjected. Nothing is superfluous, from this comes the perfect balance between lightness and strength.
